Mover Insurance Options

When you move, there is a lot at stake. There is your sanity to consider, the cost of the move itself, and the fact that your property has value, even if only sentimental. You want to protect your items while they are in the possession of movers that you have hired. All movers are required to have insurance in order to move customer property, and they assume liability for damages. However, there are different levels of liability, and it depends on which of the insurance options you choose when you hire the movers. There is full value protection, which requires movers to replace any lost or damaged goods in your entire shipment. This is the most comprehensive option. The next level is released value, which only holds the movers liable for up to 60 cents per pound, per article. It is not the best protection available for your belongings.
